The Bishop’s Bicycle Challenge

The Bishop’s Bicycle Challenge began in 2010 under the leadership of Scott Jones, bishop of the Great Plains United Methodist Conference. All funds raised went to support the Wichita Open Door capital campaign for buildings and facilities. To date over $130,000 has been raised! The ride is now headed for its seventh successful year in 2016 on Saturday, June 18.

The Bishop’s Bicycle Challenge is open to all interested cyclists and offers three different rides:

  • 22-mile ride
  • 50K ride (50K)
  • 100K ride (100K)

Check-in and final registration for the 2016 Ride starts at 6 a.m. on June 18. Official start time is 7 a.m. However later starts are welcome until 8 a.m.

LOCATION FOR 2016:
All rides start and finish at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 7901 W 21st St N, in Wichita, KS.

United Methodist Open Door

All funds raised through the 2016 Bishop’s Bicycle Challenge will support Open Door, which will in turn allow the agency to provide much needed services for years to come. Open Door assists more than 38,000 unduplicated people in need each year. Learn more about Open Door here.
